Rutledge City Council approves TSPLOST measure, hopes for $770k - Morgan County Citizen
By Sarah Wibell staff writer Rutledge’s city council met on January 14 and approved a referendum regarding a Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales and Use Tax (TSPLOST). This new tax would increase the county’s current sales tax from 7 percent to 8 percent and be restricted to transportation-related projects. According to County Manager Adam Mestres, the proposed increase is projected to bring in $18 million for the county over a five-year period.
