Mathematics and Statistics
I have been a data scientist since we called it statistics and data science is the realization of scientific computing. For nine years, I worked at the Federal Reserve Board at the intersection of data, computers, and social science. It was an incredible training ground. And we played with a lot of R. Then I left to become a data science consultant and man about the District. I also have a strong interesting mathematics education stemming from teaching as an adjunct at the University of Maryland University College. There, I have taught developmental, introductory college mathematics, and introductory statistics. Most of those have been distance education, administered through the Internet. A few courses have been hybrid with both an online and in-person component. As a result, my research has focused on delivering mathematics content online.
