Floods destroy thousands of homes in South Sudan | Goats For The Old Goat
South Sudan has recently caught the attention of news media around the world as recent flooding has displaced over 400,000 people. Our volunteers are doing everything we can to help villages recover. In addition to destroying homes, wells, and schools the flood waters will greatly increase the risk of deadly malaria outbreaks. We have plans to distribute food, water, and mosquito nets to the village of Majok Goi, and are researching how to fix the flood-damaged well. In addition, we hope to dig a dike that would divert some of the flood waters in the future, and allow for safe water storage.
