Bass Guitar: Basics 1 (non-credit) - EA School of Music
Authored by Braun Khan This is the non-credit version of Bass Guitar: Basics 1, and will not provide high school credit or instructor feedback/communication. Welcome to Bass Guitar: Basics 1. This course is designed to introduce students to the bass guitar, and get them passionate about playing the instrument. Students will explore and learn about the instrument, proper playing technique, styles of music, and important figures in bass history. This course will teach students how to read standard notation, tablature, fingerboard diagrams, and chord charts both in reading and, eventually, composing and improvising on the bass. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams. By the end of the course, students will have a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they made, original compositions, and a skill set to tackle new music. They’ll also be ready to start Bass Basics 2!
