Overuse of mobile phones and headsets is increasingly becoming the cause of tinnitus, a hearing problem, as the PGI has seen a rise in such cases in the past three to five years. According to Dr Sanjay Munjal, ENT Department, PGI, they get 40-42 adults and 15-20 children with complaints related to hearing per day. Of the total adults, about four have a hearing problem caused by excessive use of mobile phones and headphones and air pollution. “This comes to about 10 per cent cases being caused due to these three reasons.
