Batman #30 | Dawn of Comics
You’d be forgiven for not knowing who Kite-man was but after this issue you’ll never forget who he is. Batman has finally picked his side in this war between the Riddler and the Joker and he’s chosen the Riddler, teaming up to take out the Jokers men one at a time leaving only one, Kite-man, as his final trusted henchman he alone has the information that Batman needs to bring down the Joker. Making him talk should be easy as he is only Kite-man after all.Turns out he’s a lot tougher than he looks… which actually isn’t hard as he is dressed as human kite. Working with the Joker was not his idea, the Joker made it clear that those who were not with him were against him, by the time he figured he could change sides it was too late and the Riddler would kill him for not choosing him to begin with. Left with nothing to lose Kite-man goes all in for the Joker and proves himself not only trust worthy but also an actual threat in this war. This issue is dedicated to the origin and character development of the once bottom of the barrel super villain that shows he’s capable of being so much more. His story is a sad one that could be confused with a hero’s origin, like in this war he chose the wrong side and became a villain. Compelling and heartbreaking. I’ve been enjoying this story more and more with each issue, i’m looking forward to the next issue as the conclusion draws near. Do you agree with my review, or think I couldn’t be more wrong?
