Dallas Teen Inspires Change in the World via Education, Travel, and Service | Bright Light Volunteers
Through an initiative via Dallas nonproЀt Bright Light Volunteers to bring international educational opportunities to Title 1 schools and scholarships provided by DFW's Hispanic 100 (H-100), Si Se Puede, and SYTA, one young Hispanic student was awarded a scholarship and the opportunity to audit a college course on global citizenship, learn about Costa Rica, and then travel there to partake in service with several different nonproЀts in the host community. Via the program, she earned a CertiЀcate of Global Citizenship for Bethel University Global Studies for her recent volunteer work in Costa Rica and she pledges to continue to make a difference in the world.
