However, when I first read the book, I thought it was boring, pointless (the author himself had admited there was no purpose as such in the novel) and overrated. It took me some lessons, some articles and a lot of enjoyable research on Zelda Sayre to fully understand the story and pitty Gatsby in fiction and Zelda in real life. In fact, she has become a favourite figure of mine in American history/literature. When I recently saw her portrayed on an amazing film (saying in which would be a huge spoiler, wink wink @redheadheroines) I liked her even more!
