Introducing the App Banner Widget
There are many avenues for app promotion: email, social networks, in-venue signage, etc. However one of your largest sources of traffic is your website. Your website receives traffic from direct visits, organic searches, and other web referrals. It is often the first place a user visits to find information about upcoming events. So what is the best way to convert your web visitors into app users? Simply add this widget to the home page of your website. When a user visits your website on their mobile device, it will display a banner across the top of the page, letting them know about your free iOS or Android app. If a user taps anywhere on the icon, text, or “GET” button, they will be automatically forwarded to the appropriate app store where they can download the app for their type of device. Or, they can use the “X” button in the upper-right corner to dismiss the banner and continue browsing your website. Once closed, the banner won’t show up again for 24 hours. Note: This widget has no effect when viewing your website on a desktop or laptop computer. You will still want to add a page to your website promoting the benefits of your app. Why Orange? We understand that for many, the background color of the banner won’t match the style of your website. That’s the idea! While we understand that you may want this widget to match the design of your website with similar colors, we want to make sure people see the banner. We want to grab their attention and make sure they know that you have a free app available for them to download. How To Set It Up 1. Log in to your Partner Control Panel. Go to “Mobile” and then “Promote”. 2. Expand the “Website Banner” section and copy the provided script. It will look like this: 3. Preferably, paste this code into your website’s section. If for some reason this does not work, place it somewhere in the instead. It’s that easy! Let Us Know Have you added the App Banner Widget to your website? Let us know so that we can check it out!
