Sandra Juge - Q4 Art Competition
The naturalist sometimes experiences, during his engrossed contemplations, a shock in the front of the inert appearance of the things of Nature. As if his desire for intimacy with the world was stopped by the resistance, the opacity of those things which seem to exist only for themselves. Thus exiled, he develops a nostalgia for the unexpected and the disorder of matter. Mixed Media on canvas. Each painting must bear witness to its own past and a distinctive memory, without of any trace of the gesture or intervention being left behind. Research always begins with a material intuition. A set of actions and speculations provokes power relations and encounters wich are no miscible. Phenomena, and their inscriptions in the physical memory of paintings, rely on sedimentation processes. Uncertainty and indeterminacy are proposed like a beforehand to an ontological approach to the plastic work.
