ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Anne Arundel County Sheriff Ron Bateman confirmed multiple people were killed in a shooting at a Maryland newsroom Thursday afternoon. Five people are dead and several others injured from a shooting at the Capital Gazette, a daily newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland, officials said. One suspect was taken into custody, officials said. A sheriff’s deputy has arrested a suspect near the scene, Bateman said, but the sheriff’s department has not released information on that person or whether there may be other suspects outstanding.
