The One Sign That You Will Be Wealthy - Skyler Irvine
On Quora, I was asked: What is the one sign you will be wealthy? My answer: DRIVE When I was 20, I read somewhere that: “You can talk with someone for five minutes and then know their future.” At the time, I thought this was a fallacy; but as I have grown older, I’ve learned the truth in this statement. The words people use tell you so much about how they view the world. It is a common misconception that people destined for success are victims of circumstance. This is actually not the case. Those who will be successful are optimistic and execute their good and bad ideas. The world is full of good ideas. Therefore, it’s not the “idea” that makes someone successful. Carrying out an idea is what determines success. Only a small percentage of people execute their plans. If you sit on an idea for 20 years, how do you expect progress to come your way? It won’t. Successful people will even execute bad ideas that may or may not work out. The benefit of this is the learning that comes during the process. The lessons that come from failure can be even more valuable than being triumphant all the time. The messages that come from bad ideas can help in the next venture. Every mistake or obstacle is a learning opportunity. You can hear this mindset from successful people in the words they use during a brief conversation. One’s drive is the single most important thing that will determine someone’s success. Without having the will or desire to be ahead of the game and noteworthy, the progress will never come. Being driven is the thing that factors if someone will be driven for success. If you take the show Shark Tank, for example, you will watch these “venture capitalists” take a bet on someone. They are truly investing in the person rather than the product or idea. A good idea ran by the wrong person will not succeed. There are too many variables or obstacles that may go wrong. People who are destined for success will not give up even when others do. There is no secret to success. No shortcuts. What works for one person most likely will not work for the next. Simply copying a successful person does not guarantee anything. However, copying their habits and their drive, will.
