I’m so thrilled to be hosting LM Somerton! Testing Lysander is one steamy book! Thanks LM! -Penny LM Somerton: In planning Testing Lysander I intended to come up with a thriller with a thread of romance rather than a romance with a thread of adventure. You’ll have to come up with your own opinion as to whether I succeeded, but it did make me think about what exactly makes a good thriller. Now I realized that everyone’s going to have a different opinion on this, but for me, a good thriller is a story I can’t put down, it has me biting my nails and staying up late at night, fretting about whether the characters are going to survive. Thrillers come in many forms, but in general, the plots are scary, the characters are at great risk and the novels are constructed in a manner that makes the reader really want to turn the page. Lots of action and dramatic landscapes add to the recipe. Throw in a plot that concerns itself with life-and-death issues and a seriously malevolent antagonists and you have a formula for excitement.
