Palate Journals: Recipes - How to make Guava Jelly
Everybody loves jelly and if it is a Guava based one then all the more reason to love and relish it. Sharing some of my family recipes starting with this one Ingredients: 1Kg Guava 1-1/2 Litre Water 1 Kg Sugar 2 Lemon (Medium) Cut Guava into slices and place them in a vessel with water Ensure that the water covers the fruit, Boil them till the seeds leave the Guava slices ( Approx. 30 min) Strain it using a silk/muslin cloth, only take the water and do not put pressure on the cloth (We only need water and not guava pulp), discard the pulp Add sugar to the water and let it boil for an hour till the jelly starts to form pieces and harden Add lemon juice and let it boil for another 10 minutes Remove the vessel from fire and let it cool down for 10 minutes then remove the white froth that collects on top of the jelly and discard it Let it cool completely before storing it in jars Related
