Robert The Bruce once again sees Angus Macfadyen play the historic Scottish nobleman. A sort of quasi-sequel to Mel Gibson’s Braveheart, Richard Gray’s film charts Robert The Bruce‘s continuous political battles against the English following the death of William Wallace. This looks like the type of historical epic that gets Movies in Focus‘ blood flowing – the perfect antidote to the CGI slam-bam summer blockbusters heading our way. Macfadyen was great in Braveheart and he appears to be bringing the same gravitas here. He also co-wrote the script.
