God bless Steven Soderbergh, the patron saint of cinema. He’s one of the few still delivering top-tier movies, where the focus is character and plot – not super powers and spandex. It looks like Soderbergh is going to deliver again with The Laundromat, a film which appears to pack a wonderfully spicy wallop. Set around the true-life story of the money laundering in the Panama Papers, The Laundromat stars Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas and Sharon Stone and while the trailer plays on the fizzy heist shenanigans of the Ocean’s movies, I get the impression there’s much more to proceedings than that.
