The BAFTA Film Awards 2013 Winners List - Movies In Focus
Ben Affleck’s career resurgence is now complete. Affleck’s Argo scored three Baftas last night in London (I was there, but more on that later), and it really does look like the thriller will take home the best picture at the Academy Awards – despite the Best Director snub. Speaking of snubs, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln only bagged a Best Actor award for Daniel Day-Lewis. This was expected, but many thought that the political drama might scoop a few more awards. Les Miserables also acquitted itself well, scoring Anne Hathaway a Best Supporting Actress award, while Skyfall brought home the Best British film, which is something that it really needed to do, considering the stellar reviews and the billion dollar global box office gross. It’s not really a British film, but we’ll skip over that point, shall we? Here’s a full list of the winners – but I’ll be writing up my red carpet experience later.
