Terrence Malick films are something special. They’re often divisive, but Malick directs like no one else working today. Tree of Life is a perfect example of Malick’s work, a visual poem, or a narrative image that is far from conventional. I saw the film a year ago and while I’m not sure if I truly enjoyed it, I have thought about it constantly over the last twelve months – that makes it something special. Malick’s latest film, To The Wonder stars Ben Affleck, former Bond-girl Olga Kurylenko, Rachel McAdams and Javier Bardem, it recently hit the headlines when it was announced that Rachel Weisz, Micheal Sheen, Barry Pepper, and Amanda Peet were cut from the final edit.
