DVD Review: I AGAINST I - Stylish, British, Boring - Movies In Focus
I Against I is a visually stylish British thriller that just doesn’t come together – a shame because it could have been something special. The film sees stars Kenny Doughty and Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson attempt to kill each over the course of a night, tracking each other across London using GPS devices. The reason? They’re in deep with Mark Womack’s gangster and he wants them both dead. The film is directed by Mark Cripps, David Ellison and James Marquand (son of Return of the Jedi’s Richard Marquand), and the tone of the film is betrayed by having so many men calling the shots. The performances are uneven, and the tension is lacking where audiences should be tightly wound – which is a missed opportunity because the concept does have some good ideas.
