BAFTA 2019: Nominations For The EE British Academy Film Awards - Movies In Focus
The Favourite would appear to be the favourite at the 2019 EE BAFTAs. Yorgos Lanthimo’s film is nominated in 12 categories – including Best Film, Outstanding British Film and Original Screenplay. Bohemian Rhapsody, First Man, Roma and A Star Is Born all scored seven nominations, while Adam McKay’s Vice banked six, and Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman five (with Lee getting first ever BAFTA nod!). Black and white drama Cold War and Green Book have four nominations, while Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Mary Poppins Returns, Mary Queen of Scots and Stan & Ollie have three nominations each. That’s a pretty eclectic mix, but it looks like The Favourite is the film to beat. Joanna Lumley will once again host the ceremony which will take place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 10 February.
