Game of Thrones Season 3 Premiere - The Midwest TV Guys
…was fantastic. The thing about GAME OF THRONES is that I find it to be way too complicated for me to sit down and recap every week. That being said, I am ultra-stoked that it’s back on and equally excited that THE WALKING DEAD is now out of the way for me to devote Sunday evening in its entirety to GAME OF THRONES. Consider it the closest thing I have to a religious experience ten weeks out of the year. I love the perspective that GAME OF THRONES comes from. Most people I would assume expect an action packed 300 or GLADIATOR-style swordfest but it’s quite the opposite. The most apt description might be a ‘medieval-era political thriller’. The large scale battles are more-or-less relegated to background noise in favor of individuals and their stories. The scene in the premiere between Tyrion Lannister (PETER DINKLAGE) and his father Lord Tywin Lannister (CHARLES DANCE) was outstanding and perfectly showcases the raw talent brought by both the actors and the script.
