Manly United v Illawarra Stingrays Review | Manly United Football Club
MANLY United coach Chris Williams hailed the determined nature of his squad following a 0-0 draw with Illawarra on Sunday at Ian McLellan Park. The Stingrays shifted the match from JJ Kelly Park to a synthetic surface in Kembla Grange, but they were unable to find a way past United keeper Nic Simonsen. “I thought it was a great game of football, and our girls were brilliant against a very good team,” Williams said. “We had some very nice passages of play, we hit the crossbar and their keeper had a blinder, some of her saves were world class. “I feel we are developing really well, the way we stayed calm and stuck to the game plan was great. “Overall I was very happy with the performance.” United host Sydney Olympic FC next Sunday in round 19 action at Cromer Park from 3pm.
