Manly outgunned by Rams | Manly United Football Club
MANLY United’s players were left gutted after an injury time strike saw Macarthur steal a 2-1 win on Sunday afternoon at Cromer Park. Young gun Rosie Galea opened the scoring after just three minutes for the visitors, finding the back of the net from distance. United didn’t panic and on the half hour mark equalised via the boot of Claudia Cholakian. After hitting the crossbar late on, a number of United’s players were in disbelief when Liz Ralston stole the points at the death. “It was very tough on the players,” Manly coach Chris Williams said. “They put in such a good performance and were done by a sucker punch on the counter. “We definitely had our chances to win it – either we weren’t clinical enough or didn’t make the best decision in the final third.” Williams was delighted with the input of new faces Hannah Peric, Bryany Parker, Caitlin Jarvie and teenager Cheyenne Wise-Jarvis. United take on North Shore Mariners this Sunday, March 17 at Cook Park in Mt Pritchard from 3pm.
