Teen arrested for breaking into over 100 vehicles. #ManisteeCounty MANISTEE - A 17-year-old Manistee man was arrested by the Manistee Police Department for breaking into over 100 vehicles, said Manistee Police Chief Tim Kozal. "On Dec. 15, 2019, officers from the Manistee Police Department responded to the area of Ninth and Ramsdell streets in reference to reports of vehicles being entered," Kozal states in a press release. "Pursuant to the investigation and with the assistance of the Manistee County Sheriff K-9, Officer Jeremiah Haner and Sgt. Tom Bruce were able to identify a possible suspect. Manistee police determined that the suspect had broken into over 100 vehicles, through unlocked doors. "Through an exhaustive search at the suspect’s residence, over 130 items were recovered that were stolen from vehicles throughout the City of Manistee beginning in early November. The suspect was arrested and lodged at Manistee County Jail on the following felonies: two counts possession of stolen financial transaction device, two counts larceny from a motor vehicle, one count receiving and concealing stolen property in excess of $1,000 and the following misdemeanors: two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
