University of Scranton to Remove Bishops’ Names from Buildings Following Grand Jury Report
SCRANTON, Pa. -- The release of the grand jury report on sex abuse in the Catholic church has prompted some big changes in the city of Scranton. The president of the University of Scranton announced Monday that buildings named for three former bishops of the Diocese of Scranton will be renamed. That grand jury report alleges Bishops Jerome D. Hannan, J. Carroll McCormick, and James C. Timlin all covered up the crimes of abusive priests.
