Courtright Pleads Guilty to Federal Corruption Charges
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Former Scranton Mayor Bill Courtright pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday morning to corruption charges. Courtright said nothing as he entered the courthouse in Williamsport. Courtright abruptly resigned as mayor on Monday. Tuesday morning, he pleaded guilty to charges of criminal conspiracy, bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds, and attempt to obstruct commerce by extortion under color of official right.
