Corrections Officers Hospitalized after Exposure to Drugs
CANAAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Five corrections officers at the federal prison in Wayne County were hospitalized this week after getting exposed to drugs they were trying to confiscate. Late Wednesday and early Thursday, corrections officers at USP Canaan went cell to cell during a routine drug search. Five became ill when they unknowingly inhaled smoke believed to be laced with synthetic drugs.
