Polio-Stricken Woman Writes Letters to Lawmakers about Cannabis
DES MOINES, Iowa -- An Iowa woman is sharing her story of chronic pain with lawmakers through handwritten letters. Connie Norgart, of Urbandale, was diagnosed with polio when she was six-months-old, just one year before a vaccine was created. "When I was 18, I went to nursing schools and wore braces. Then in 1989, I developed post-polio syndrome and that causes severe weakness and chronic pain," Norgart said.
