Teen Who Battled Cancer Five Times Starts New Treatment in Hopes of Keeping Cancer Away
DES MOINES, Iowa – It's a big week for an Altoona teen who has battled cancer five times in the last seven years. The Southeast Polk Junior is now considered cancer free, and she wants to stay that way. Mackenzy Larson is a regular at Blank Children's Cancer and Blood Disorder Center. "She always comes in, not always comes in with a smile, usually comes in with a smile, but she’s always ready to put her head down and do whatever it takes,” said Registered Nurse Amber Burke.
