Report: Santa Clara police union threatens to boycott 49ers games over Kaepernick protest
SAN FRANCISCO -- The union representing police officers who work San Francisco 49ers home games has penned a letter saying some officers may choose not to work at Levi's Stadium unless the team takes action against Colin Kapernick, NBC Bay Area reports. According to the Bay Area news station, some union members are upset over Kaepernick's well-publicized decision to sit during the national anthem. Kaepernick sat in protest during the national anthem for a preseason game, saying he would not honor a song nor “show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”
