Another confirmed case of Zika virus in Snohomish County
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – A second person tested positive for the Zika virus in Snohomish County, the health department confirmed on Tuesday. Officials said a “young woman” who recently traveled to Ecuador isn’t pregnant and is no longer exhibiting symptoms but is being monitored. “We live in a world where any disease can be in our community within a matter of hours,” Dr. Gary Goldbaum, health officer and director of the Snohomish Health District, said in a statement. “Whether it is Zika, measles, pertussis or something we haven’t even heard of yet, we have a highly skilled workforce ready to respond and keep Snohomish County residents safe.”
