Police standoff with felon near Joyce ends after nearly 8 hours
PORT ANGELES, Wash. — A police standoff with a felon who said he was holding another man hostage ended after nearly 8 hours Tuesday afternoon as the ex-convict surrendered at the Salt Creek RV Park on Highway 112 east of Joyce, the Peninsula Daily News reported. Police negotiators were able to talk Ordez Eugene Kompkoff, 20, into giving himself up. John Hosel, whom Kompkoff said he was holding at gunpoint, also emerged from the home.
