Staff and chimps at Chimpanzee Sanctuary safe during Hart Road Fire
CLE ELUM, Wash – The staff at the Chimpanzee sanctuary Northwest was having a normal day, until they saw smoke a few hundred yards away from their property. According to the sanctuary, one of the chimps, Jamie, was the first to notice the smoke. The property had to be evacuated but two of the directors stayed behind to help care for the seven chimps.
