‘They took away my little girl’: New York woman dies in Dominican Republic after cosmetic surgery
YONKERS, N.Y. — A heartbroken mother wants justice for her daughter, who died after undergoing cosmetic surgery in the Dominican Republic. Alexandra Medina, a 33-year-old New Rochelle mom, saved money for years to have liposuction in the country, where it costs much less than it would in the US. Over the objections of her mother, she went to a clinic where two patients has already died. The clinic where those patients and Medina had procedures has been shut down since Medina's death last week.
