Advocates say deportation is ultimate goal of fast-track asylum resolution plan
EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — The Trump administration is testing a “secretive” program in El Paso to provide resolution in 10 days or less to a migrant’s asylum petition, according to The Washington Post. Citing unnamed U.S. officials, the paper on Thursday reported that the Prompt Asylum Claim Review program seeks to accomplish two Trump administration goals: deter migrants from crossing the U.S. border and push asylum seekers out of the country.
