Effort to recall Gov. Polis approved by Secretary of State
DENVER -- An effort to recall Gov. Jared Polis has officially been approved by the Colorado Secretary of State. A group called “Dismiss Polis” officially petitioned the state to start collecting signatures. The request was approved Monday. Polis was sworn in as governor on Jan. 8. In to order to oust the Democratic governor, organizers will need to collect more than 630,000 signatures within 60 days. If they do, a special election would be held.
