Magnitude 4.4 earthquake shakes Southern California
LA VERNE, Calif. -- A magnitude 4.4 earthquake rattled a wide area of Southern California on Tuesday night. But there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. The temblor struck about 7:33 p.m. and was centered about three miles north of La Verne, about 25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, according to a preliminary report by the U.S. Geological Survey.
