Heavy snowfall, increasing winds force Crested Butte ski resort to close
CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. -- Crested Butte Mountain Resort closed early Monday partly because there was too much snow. The resort stopped running lifts and shut down the resort Monday afternoon. It tweeted a photo showing the snow stake almost completely buried. "Wet and heavy snowfall combined with increasing winds has led to the closure," resort officials said.
