Pre-evacuation notice lifted for wildfire near Glenwood Springs
GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. -- Authorities closed Interstate 70 west of Glenwood Springs because of a wildfire on Wednesday afternoon. The Colorado Department of Transportation said the interstate was closed at Exit 109 (for U.S. Highway 6), which is about one mile east of New Castle. While the interstate was originally completed closed, the Colorado State Patrol said the eastbound lanes reopened about 4:30 p.m.
