Motorcyclist Killed in Shootout During Police Pursuit Through Meyers
EL DORADO COUNTY -- A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon in an exchange of gunfire with the officers who had been chasing him through Meyers. According to officers, the shootout occurred during a 7-to-10-mile chase that started along Highway 89 as officers closed in on their suspect. "Doesn't happen too often. He did have the felony warrant for his arrest for armed robbery with a firearm," said El Dorado County Sheriff's Sgt. Anthony Prencipe. "So there's a little bit of history of that. But to drive and shoot, not typically heard of."
