Just when you think your driving adventure in Alaska can’t get any more remote or lonely, you come upon a road like the Denali Highway. There it is, cutting across the loop made by the Parks, Richardson, and Glenn Highways — three roads which already have their share of desolate, sparsely-populated areas.
