HTC Issues Statement on Vive 2 at CES Rumours | Power Up Gaming
HTC has today released a statement denying rumours that it is set to launch a wireless successor to its Vive VR headset at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 in Las Vegas next week. Online speculation had intensified over the past few days following a report from the Central News Agency, the state broadcaster of Taiwan – where HTC is based – claiming that the Vive 2 would be announced at the conference. According to the company's reports, the Vive 2 will feature two 4K screens – one for each eye – with an improved refresh rate of 120hz. This news also came shortly after HTC announced a (temporary) price cut of $100 on the first-generation Vive, leading many to believe the rumours had credibility.
