Lionsgate Developing Borderlands Movie | Power Up Gaming
In recent years, Uncharted and BioShock movies have been struggling to get off the ground, with the BioShock movie being cancelled outright after losing the creator of the franchise, Ken Levine, as a producer. Yet Hollywood continues on, and yesterday Ubisoft revealed the first image of Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch in the big screen adaptation of Assassin's Creed . Today, another studio has snagged a video game movie deal. Lionsgate has now announced that they are developing a project based on one of today's biggest video game franchises: Borderlands. From Variety, Lionsgate is developing the movie with producers Avi and Ari Arad. The two Arad's have worked on the Iron Man, Spider Man, Amazing Spider Man, X-Men, Ghost Rider and Blade franchises. Lionsgate co-chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger declared in a joint statement that "The 'Borderlands' games don't pull any punches, and we'll make the movie with the same in-your-face attitude that has made the series a
