The no-name protesters ousted from the Hamilton County courthouse complain about some of the sins that attend warped forms of capitalism — big banks, for example, corporate bailouts. But Chattanoogans realize there exists an ideal of capitalism that rises from the lofty imagination of the Christian religion. The ideal is often difficult to find operating purely anywhere. Still, even amid the abuses, the concept of “serving the other” comes to us from a magnificent, selfless and loving act at a place called Calvary.
