By Veronica Brezina The Los Angeles-based Virgin Hyperloop One tube train — a concept from Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk — wants to build a 257-mile, 26-minute route that would connect the Orlando International Airport to the Miami Intermodal Center. But first, the Hyperloop One team needs support from the local business community. The bullet train would move both freight and people in “pods” in the fully autonomous and enclosed structure, which would allow businesspeople to commute to and from the two cities quickly. The Florida Hyperloop team is led by Miami-Dade Transit Director Alice Bravo and AECOM, an engineering firm, and has the backing of the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works.
