Positive Thinking Alone Isn’t Enough To Be Successful
For those who know me, it won’t come as a surprise to you to hear me say I’m a total optimist. I really do believe in the power of positive thinking. Why? For starters, it feels good. And I like feeling good. Who doesn’t? Secondly, it puts me in a mental state of mind to achieve more. To keep believing and pursuing my goals, my dreams. All it is I desire for myself and those I love and care for most. What’s the alternative? To be pessimistic and focus on the bad? No way. And while thinking positive is great and something I encourage everyone to do, I know positive thinking alone won’t bring me the successes I seek. I can think and think and think hard about kicking butt at the next marathon I run. All that thinking will do nothing for me unless I take action. Whether it’s registering for the race, starting a training program, joining a running group. Something, anything. Action. I must take action. I can think positive all day long about my podcast reaching and serving people all over the world who listen to it. However, if I don’t take action, whether it’s coming up with content, creating podcasts, sharing them via social media… If I don’t take action on all of my positive thinking, I don’t stand a chance at seeing my goals and dreams happen. I love the book “Think & Grow Rick”. It was a game-changer for me when I read it. It’s all about the power of positive thinking. That said, I wish they would have titled it, “Think, Do, & Grow Rich.” Success starts with thinking. But only has a chance if we actually do. An ounce of doing is worth a pound of thinking. Couple the two together (positive thinking with action) and success becomes not only likely, but highly probable. More in this episode of my Mornings With Mike podcast. Thanks for being here. You’re awesome… Cheers! Mike
