For More Health, Happiness, And Fulfillment.. Always Do This.
When it comes to intuition, your gut feeling, that little voice talking to you, call it what you will… The one telling you to get up and go exercise because it’ll make you feel better. The one telling you the relationship you’re in isn’t right for you. The one telling you take a chance and start your own business. The one telling you to move to a new place, write your own cook book, go back to school. Whatever it’s telling you (whoever or whatever “it” is)… Do you listen and let it guide you, or do you ignore it? Thinking back, I remember always listening to it but only if it did’t involve hardship, fear, or potential for failure. It was more comfortable sleeping in versus the hardship of getting up early to go to the gym to workout. It was more comfortable keeping a safe job versus the potential of failure starting my own business. It was more comfortable staying in relationships that were good enough because of fear that I wasn’t good enough to be in a great relationship. My intuition, my gut feeling, that little voice all told me none of these were right. For a long while, I didn’t listen. And while I was comfortable, I also felt stale, unhappy, unhealthy, unfulfilled. I wasn’t learning, growing, or doing all I knew I could do, more importantly, wanted to do. All in my efforts to avoid the potential of hardship, fear, and failure. I decided some time ago now to give comfort the middle finger and instead, listen to my intuition, my gut, the little voice that says “do it”. Despite the hardship, despite my fear, and the possibility of failure. I’ve faced many hardships since, many fears, and have failed more times than I care to share with you here. I’ve also never felt more alive, more healthy, happy, confident, fulfilled, successful, and grateful for all the experiences I’ve been blessed to have. A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor. Our intuition, gut feeling, that little voice, it seems to always have our best interests in mind. I say we listen to it… whatever “it” is. More in this episode of my Mornings With Mike podcast. Thanks for being here. You’re awesome… Mike
