Slain Corrections Officer Added to “Walk of Honor”
NANTICOKE -- A solitary bagpipe lead a solemn procession at the Luzerne County Community College Public Safety Training Institue, passing under an American Flag billowing in the breeze. The college's "Walk of Honor" was originally established to remember Michael Scott Carlo, a firefighter from Luzerne County who died on 9-11 at the World Trade Center. Now the memorial will include a plaque honoring Eric Williams, the corrections officer who died in the line of duty in February.
