Statue Honoring WWI Doughboys in Storage during Construction
SCRANTON -- The "Doughboy" statue honoring World War I doughboy soldiers has been packed up in Scranton. It was taken off its base along Harrison Avenue on Thursday and will be placed in storage for about three years while PennDOT works on the new Harrison Avenue Bridge. The project requires PennDOT to eventually move Colonel Duffy Park to the other side of Harrison Avenue in Scranton.
