ISU GRANT: Researching Faster Bridge Construction
The US Department of Transportation has awarded Iowa State University a grant to develop new and faster ways to build bridges. The $800-thousand grant extends for two years. Iowa State engineers have been working to improve bridge construction for years. The DOT has already used a method adapted by Iowa State to replace a 1930 bridge in Cass County. The work would have ordinarily had an impact on traffic for several months.
